The mystic Thomas Merton wrote, “There is in all visible things an invisible fecundity, a dimmed light, a meek namelessness, a hidden wholeness. This mysterious unity and integrity is wisdom, the mother of us all, ‘natura naturans.’”
This Sunday, as we celebrate Holy Communion, we are reminded that underneath, beyond, around, and within us is a unity and oneness that binds everything together. Sometimes it simply takes a new way of seeing to discover the Communion that holds us all together. Jesus shows us how to look.
