Because I know that time is always time
And place is always and only place
And what is actual is actual for only one time
And only for one place

From T.S. Eliot’s poem “Ash Wednesday”

This poem was Charles Parson‘s inspiration for a creative, one-day art installation as an enhancement to the Ash Wednesday worship service.

–Special acknowledgement to Mark Anderson from a creative concept conversation 15 years ago.–

Charles has been busy preparing his art installation for Ash Wednesday (Feb 22).

On the mirrored plinths (ledges) in the center beam is a small amount of ash.

The ash is reflected on the mirrors as you look up…skyward.

The size of this artwork is enormous. Here is Charles with his artwork for comparison.

We can’t wait to see it all lit up on Wednesday night!
