Our Adult Study Hour (ASH) class is proceeding in fine fashion with really deep discussions arising from this fall’s lessons on different ways to interpret the Bible. Last week, we talked about Philo, a first century Hellenistic Jew who lived in Egypt and believed that a literal interpretation of much of the Hebrew Bible (the Old Testament) was not helpful because many of the events recorded were “highly unlikely” but, when coupled with an allegorical interpretation, they provided religious truth. We will continue this Bible study for the rest of the year and invite any and all to join us.
We will not meet on November 30 (the Sunday of Thanksgiving weekend) but will pick right up again on December 7, 14, and 21. ASH is held 9:00-9:50 am on these Sundays.
