For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works,
which God prepared in advance for us to do. —Ephesians 2:10
The tradition of weaving is acknowledged as one of the oldest surviving crafts in the world. It dates all the way back to Neolithic times. The products of weaving have been essential for all cultures contributing to community, connection, identity, and livelihood. We see the beauty of weaving even in nature, as birds will build an intricate nest, weaving together sticks, grass and leaves, creating a safe place for their young to be born and develop. Could it be that God is a weaver of our lives? This Sunday we will explore, God the Weaver, a weaver who brings all the aspects of our lives together in a beautiful tapestry of wholeness.
