Based on Luke 2: 8-20
The account of a host of angels delivering the news of Christ’s birth to a group of shepherds is found only in the Gospel of Luke. This Sunday, I will offer an imaginative retelling of the angels’ announcement of Christ’s birth and the shepherd journey to the manger. This remarkable event happened during the rule of Herod in the land of Judea on the outskirts of a little town called Bethlehem. On this particular morning, the sky was alive with color and the air was cool and crisp. There were young shepherds, shepherding their sheep on a rocky hillside, but their attention was not on the sheep but a strange sight of something emerging in the heavens above. . .
