Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God;
everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
Whoever does not love does not know God, for God is love. —1 John 4:7-8
At the core of a Christian perspective is the belief that God is love and that Jesus Christ is the human manifestation of how we are called to love God, neighbors, and our enemies. And yet, if we search within our own hearts, and look around at those who identify as Christian, it might seem like wishful thinking and even hypocritical. This Sunday, we will explore how God as a cosmic principle of love and Jesus as a human exemplar, reveal the true ways of love. We will celebrate Holy Communion as a ritual which reminds us of our deepest nature, which is Love.
