For the gate is narrow and the road is hard that leads to life,
and there are few who find it. —Matthew 7:14

Throughout this season of Lent, we are exploring the ethics, the values, and the transformative possibilities for our lives, society, and for our world as a result of the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. This Sunday, we will examine the parable of the Prodigal Son. Most of us can relate to these two characters because, if we are honest, we have been like these sons. We’ve all squandered our talents and time, and we’ve all been harsh critics and judges of people we think get more than they deserve. We can easily become estranged from our higher purpose in life and relationship with God. Jesus, however, reminds us that there are spiritual principles that can lead us home to a place of healing, forgiveness, and belonging.
