While they were talking and discussing, Jesus himself came near and went with them,
but their eyes were kept from recognizing him. And he said to them,
“What are you discussing with each other while you walk along?”
In the gospel there are numerous post resurrection stories of the disciples’ encounter with the Risen Christ. One of the striking features in these post resurrection appearances is that, in nearly every encounter, the Risen Christ is not immediately recognized. We too so often wander through life missing the sacred realities that are all around. This Sunday, we will explore how our eyes might become open to the meaning and call of the resurrection in our lives.
