“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not let them be afraid.”  John 14: 27

PEACE SUNDAY

This Sunday is Peace Sunday and we will explore this theme through music, scripture, and the sermon. In a world so full of violence and conflict, is there any hope of experiencing peace and harmony in our personal lives as well as in the larger world? The life of Jesus reminds us that there is a source of ultimate peace, a harmony that has called all creation into being. This harmony transcends the world. As Christians we can develop a relationship with this source and discover a true and deep inner peace. We are also reminded, however, that inner peace is only part of our call as Christians. Jesus said, “Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called Children of God.” Peace is active and it seeks to remedy the causes of violence and discord. Join us as we seek to understand, become, and live our lives in peace and harmony.

Special Music: “Make Me an Instrument of Your Peace” by Sebstian Temple, arr. Mark Bernard, performed by Bonnie Daly and Rosalie Dorland (a mother/daughter duet) and Ro Rains (piano) to honor 9/11.
