In the Gospel of John, Jesus speaks with a Samaritan woman whom he meets at Jacob’s Well in Sychar (John 4: 4-41). During their conversation, Jesus says to her, “Everyone who drinks of this water will be thirsty again, but those who drink of the water that I will give them will never be thirsty. The water that I will give will become in them a spring of water gushing up to eternal life.” The scripture reminds us that we have within us an eternal well; a well of renewal, refreshment, and new life. As we drink in the teachings, the spirit, the love of Jesus, the well within us bubbles forth. This Sunday, we will explore how we can drink from this well within.
